Play streets in Redbridge

Regular play streets

Redbridge is a recent embracer of play streets but residents are keen and the application process is super easy. We say go for it!

Six to eight weeks, with the deadline for play streets starting in August is 2nd June.

Up to three hours a time, weekly or monthly

You must show proof of consultation with all neighbours (ie a copy of the letter sent) but no threshhold of support is specified.

The council provides cones and signage.

Try before you buy – run a trial play street

Want to run a trial play street? Perhaps on Car Free Day or another day? You can! Find out if a play street is for you and your neighbours before committing to regular sessions by having a one-off event. Apply using a street party application. More details below.

Four deadlines a year: 1 Feb, 1 May, 1 August and 1 November.

For Car Free Day apply for 1 August deadline.

Check council website for details.

There is no charge in Redbridge for holding a street party. Hooray!

All neighbours to be informed of time and dates and objections recorded.
