Regular play streets
Play streets have been slow to take off in this borough but the council is ready and waiting for more applications. Go on, you know you want to!
Apply a minimum of six weeks before your first play street session.
Up to three hours, during daylight hours only.
A majority of residents must be in agreement. The application must list all affected properties and show whether they support the play street or not.
‘Road Closed’ signs to residents for them to keep and store between play streets.
Try before you buy – run a trial play street
Want to run a trial play street? Perhaps on Car Free Day or another day? You can! Find out if a play street is for you and your neighbours before committing to regular sessions by having a one-off event. You can do it using a street party application. More details below.
Apply at least six weeks before your event. Or for Car Free Day 2023 the deadline is 31 August!

All neighbours need to be informed/consulted on time and dates
